Bio: I make utilitarian vessels that are layered and embedded with images that evoke memories and suggest narratives. These come from a myriad of experiences and treasure hunting forays. A variety of printmaking techniques are used at specific stages of production.
Clay is a fickle lover. It gives, it resists; it is responsive to every touch when soft, but will warp or crack if treated recklessly. There are as many limits as possibilities. If it endures all of the stages it becomes vitrified, smooth and strong. The result is a much-anticipated surprise; process and chance fuel my love for this medium.
