Pam Hudson
Artist Biography
Pam Hudson was born in Olds, Alberta, and has enjoyed painting and drawing from an early age. She spent her childhood and early adult life in Calgary, attending Foothills Hospital School of Nursing. While working as a nurse and a commercial illustrator, she studied Fine Art at the University of Calgary. Pam became involved in the Vancouver art community after a move from Alberta.
Presently living in Vancouver, Pam paints in her studio at 1000 Parker Street. She worked as a curatorial assistant, at Petley-Jones Gallery on Granville Street, and currently works as an E.R. Nurse in the Lower Mainland. She has since been participing in many solo and group exhibitions. Her works are in private collections in North America and Europe.
Primary themes of her paintings include the human figure, animals, still life and abstracts. Her artwork is focused on colour and line. Inspirational artists include: Sybil Andrews, W.J. Phillips, Maxwell Bates, Maude Lewis and Jim Unger, among others. Her work can be viewed, by appointment, at studio 304, 1000 Parker Street, Doctor Vigari Gallery at 1312 Commercial Drive, and yearly at the "East Side Culture Crawl."
Pam's paintings are part of an ongoing series of expressionist works inspired by life.
