Panefico was built in 1894 and was a home for the first 40 years.  In 1935 the building became the first kosher bakery in Vancouver called the Montreal Bakery, then Willy's Bakery, a corner store run by the Quon family and now owned by five artists all working in different mediums.  The artists called it Paneficio which is Italian for fine bread as an homage to the Zanon family.
