Bio: Thompson Brennan was born in San Francisco, California and has lived in Beirut, Lebanon, New York, Virginia, Maine, Montreal and Seattle before immigrating to Canada in 2005. He studied art at the Corcoran College of Art+ Design, Washington, D.C. and was awarded the Pollock-Krasner Grant for painting. His work is included in more than thirty public collections and more than seventy-five private collections.
Brennan says of his creative process:" Art for me is about being in the present...continuously checking in with the universe in its deep wisdom." He says that " the innate logic of the piece will naturally express itself if I am paying attention and don't overly interfere..."
The paintings on studio display were created within the last 12 months. These works are from locales in British Columbia where he has spent time studying the "light and feeling of the environment". Brennan says that of all the places he has lived in the world "British Columbia is truly my favorite place on Earth".
