Born and raised in Vancouver, Robi Smith a self-taught artist. Her paintings and children's colouring books reveal her passion for the fish in our stretch of the Pacific Ocean—their beauty and mystery—and her concerns about the threats they face from pollution, overfishing and climate change. Robi is also a collage artist. She makes tiny collages on greeting cards and large pieces that explore human relationships with the natural world. All her collages feature original materials: old maps, postage stamps, advertising from 1930s magazines and natural history books, sheet music, old receipts, and game pieces.
