I was born and raised throughout the US. In my twenties I travelled, creating the fertile ground for which my artist seed was planted. I now live in East Vancouver, where on a daily basis I see and experience beauty and love, as well as pain and ugliness - the opposites forever present in all things..
I started painting to tell stories, whether it be my story or those emerging from all that I see. There are intimate memories in everything. I paint the stories of rotting wood in crumbling walls and of rusted hubcaps on dusty roads. I imagine wet paint dripping down an old picket fence and see the hands that built the fence and the hands that mend it.
As an emerging artist, I continue to explore different forms of expression. Acrylic, encaustic and photographs are some of the mediums I am currently using.
My work evolves daily - a constant, non-static meditation on objects, events and small things. My kitchen is my makeshift studio; children and wooden toys weave their way into my work. From playground fantasies to mothering my three children, painting is my voice.
