Pat Christie (Daly Company)
Address: 1295 Frances Street
Pat Christie is an Emily Carr Industrial Design Graduate who shares space at the Yew Woodshop run by fellow alumni. Upon graduation, Pat has been driven to define a space for himself in the Vancouver Design scene leading him to establish the Daly Company in summer 2012. Daly Company is a wood product design & development company, with a focus on products that make use of British Columbia's forest resources. With a focus on designing the home, Pat strongly believes that the design of an object should encourage growth and livelihood, and be made from natural materials.
The work that will be seen at this years Culture Crawl are prototypes in a variety of forms, all made entirely from BC wood. These unique explorations communicate Pat's fascination of re-thinking the objects we put in our home, and how we can make use of material found locally. The designs demonstrate how a simple form can have multiple purposes, and for the end user, it means having less objects that do more and respond better to life in motion.
