Bio: Natalie is an Abstract painter living and working in Vancouver, BC. She has a diploma in 'Environmental Graphic Design' (Grant MacEwan University, Edmonton, AB) but is primarily a self-taught painter. She works purely on an intuitive level and non-objectively. Working in Acrylic paint, colours are not predetermined nor is the composition. A surface of solid colour(s) is applied, markings or shapes are formed, layers of paint & medium are added for texture, & only after this are finer details added by the addition or subtraction of paint. Often shapes appear in her work that lead to a more representational theme.
"I want the viewer to draw his or her own conclusion as to the meaning, & I endeavour to evoke various emotional responses; from meditative through to kinetic/visceral."
Natalie's work is found in private collections in Western & Eastern Canada.
