For as long as I can remember I’ve been making art. It has always been the only thing I have ever wanted to do or have imagined myself doing. There was no other option for me than to study art. That came in the form of the Illustration program at Sheridan College. I couldn’t believe I got to do this all day long! Over the years I made a career in commercial art, working as a graphic designer and an art director. Eventually “my art” took a back seat. Along the way I realized that to really be fulfilled, I needed to make art from my heart. My abstract paintings are largely inspired by the themes of nature and growth. I also have been exploring the idea of how we want to fit in and yet it is our quest to be special and unique. Pattern and repetition play a major role and the work develops very spontaneously and organically. I aspire to make paintings that are uplifting and joyful.
