Russian born I moved to Canada ten years ago and since then Vancouver became my new home, the place to live, work and create. Recently graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design I endeavor to find my role as an emerging artist in local cultural scene. Strolling the streets of Vancouver and taking pictures of strangers have become important components of my creative process; as a result these images are translated into paintings. In my figurative work I am interested in people and spaces, as I tend to investigate themes of individuality, social and personal identities, and dialogue with the other.
