June Yun is a Vancouver - based Chinese - Canadian artist. Her artwork builds on the Edge of Eastern and Western cultures, where she transforms her personal experience with intellectual rigor.She believes keeping a fresh feeling in the work is more valuable than sharpening one’s technique. She does painting, installation, photo and video works; these are her art languages to convey her ideas, concepts and passions. June Yun was born in China and educated at Anhui Normal University and Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing. She received her Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, in 2000. She taught art in universities, and at institutions in China, England and Canada. She has exhibited in England, France, China and Canada.
