Bio:
This past year Esther exhibited in Santiago de Cuba as part of a collective exhibit titled "Idea of North - Point of Contact." She documented several murals including "Point of Contact" in Cuba and the "River of Crows" located on McLean Drive, Vancouver. "Idea of North - Visual Variations" a collaborative piece featuring six Canadian artists was exhibited at the St. Thomas Elgin Public Art Gallery in May 2011. She recently documented 40 murals in the eastside and these can be seen at the new mural website www.vancouvermurals.ca. Her photography evokes the passage of time through the process of double exposures to explore the nuances of time as it passes from past to present to future. Her work is primarily with landscapes, rural or urban and attempt to illustrate abstract, evocative scenery as a motif to epitomize the idea of imagined space, a reminder of what once was combined with what is. She continues to be intrigued by film and her recent series Landscape As Witness - Rural Series explores the visual eloquence of the details and abstraction of an object in landscape.
